It goes like this: 1. Hold Option key and click the Apple ( ) menu. Then choose System Information. 2. Under 'Hardware' section of the System Information window, choose Power. The cycle count is listed under 'Battery Information' section. Usually when your cycle count is more then 1000 the battery will need replacement.
